upcoming joint services

The Bridge Benefice is currently the two parishes of St John's Westwood and St Stephen's Canley; with St James Fletchamstead joining in informal ways of partnership, resourcing and shared opportunities.

In June 2026, Bishop Sophie welcomed Rev Gareth Irvine to take up the role of oversight of these 3 churches, as Vicar of the Bridge and Priest-in-Charge of St James, with a view to helping the 3 churches discern a way forward together over the coming months.

As part of this, the churches will be holding some joint services together on the 5th Sundays across 2026-2027:

• 30th August

• 29th November

• 31st January

• 30th May

We invite everyone who feels part of the churches of St Stephen's, St John's and St James to join in with these joint opportunities as we come together for united worship, sharing vision and testimonies, and praying for one another's missional engagement.

We look forward to joining together as God's holy people, called by his name.
