Lent & Easter

Our Lent Journey:
Prayer, Fasting and Transformation

As we move into the season of Lent we will be joining together as churches, St Stephen's, St James and St John’s, for a time of prayer and fasting. We are encouraging everyone, who is able, to consider how they can fast during this season. It may be that this is the first time you have ever fasted and as such maybe practicing this once a week from 6am-6pm is right for you! Or maybe you’re experienced in completing fasts and therefore fasting for several days or longer is the right next step for you! We have pulled together some guidance below to support you in making this decision. However, you’re able to engage, just imagine what God can do as we come together, each one doing what they can! Things will change, and the Kingdom will come! Lent marks a season of repentance, of turning from our ‘old ways’, doing things in our own effort and lowering our expectations of what’s possible, and turn instead to Jesus, in fresh belief, expectation and hope, we know that situations will change! So as we take this action, to repent and believe, we are asking us all to pray into and expect Jesus to move by the Holy Spirit in 5 key areas across our lives, churches and communities, praying and believing for:

  • Healings - body and soul

  • Financial provision and breakthrough

  • Salvations - people to come to know Jesus

  • Deepening and Reconciling Relationships

  • Breakthrough in provision and planning for the development and repair of our buildings

This feels like another significant moment, and opportunity for us to step forward into all that God has for us! So let’s all do what we can, offering what we have, knowing that our good God has much to pour out and do amongst us and in our communities!
